About the branch

The Kokand branch of Tashkent State Technical University community has a shared purpose: to make the world a better place to live through education, research, and innovation. We are fun, elite, inventive and artistic, passionate with numbers, and welcoming to talented people no matter where they come from


The Kokand branch is the first and currently the only branch of the Tashkent State Technical University in the Fergana Valley, which trains specialists in the fields of engineering, geology, economics, and technology. It was established based on the Decree 754 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the establishment of the Kokand branch of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islom Karimov on September 22, 2018.

Currently, there are two faculties acting under Kokand branch: Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Energetics. The number of teaching staff reached 38 including associate professors, senior teachers, teacher assistants. In total, there are 13 undergraduate programs and 2 taught postgraduate programs which 1, 506 students are currently enrolled in.

The undergraduate degree programs are in the following fields of study:

  1. Economics
  2. Management
  3. Automation and control of technological processes and production      
  4. Chemical technology
  5. Vehicle engineering
  6. Materials science and technology of new materials
  7. Electronics and instrumentation
  8. Electronic equipment production technology
  9. Technological machines and equipment
  10. Electrical engineering, electrical mechanics and electrical technologies
  11. Geodesy, cartography and cadastre
  12. Construction and technology of light industrial products .

The postgraduate degree programs are in the following fields of study:

  1. Chemical technology
  2. Technological machines and equipment

As its main tasks the branch defines the following:

  • to provide high-quality training of highly qualified personnel at the level of international standards for the production of industrial products, engineering work and production technologies, in particular, in the areas of electronics and instrument engineering, materials science and new materials technology, technological machines and equipment, electronic equipment production technologies;
  • to carry out scientific and practical research and development aimed at solving the scientific and technological tasks of the development of economic sectors, testing and introducing advanced foreign technologies;
  • development of scientific-methodical literature on the relevant engineering-technical and production bachelor’s education courses and master’s specialties, taking into account the proposals of personnel buyers and the experience of educational institutions of foreign countries;
  • to increase the scientific and pedagogical potential of the branch by regularly sending promising young graduates to the republican and foreign higher education institutions and scientific centers for master’s and doctoral studies.
